The collection ‘Behind the Treelines’ is a body of work focused on the question: “What lies beyond the forest edge?” It’s about having the trust that with every step you take, you are slowly moving closer to your goal, even if you don’t yet know were you end up (behind the treeline). In each painting, I’ve tried to re-create those walls (of trees) by continuously adding new layers of paint to the canvas. Creating a fading effect simulation of every step already taken and the ones that still need to be taken.
